Biography

Dr. Patel grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was accepted into a combined BS/MD program right out of high school.  He completed his undergraduate at Kent State University and then attended Northeast Ohio Medical University where he graduated in 2002.   After that, Dr. Patel completed an internship and his residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He stayed at Northwestern and completed fellowship training in field of Allergy & Immunology finishing in 2007.

Following graduation, Dr. Patel moved to Charlotte to join Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center where he has had the pleasure of seeing patients ever since. He has board certifications in Internal Medicine (2005 and then recertified in 2015) and Allergy/Immunology (2007 and recertified in 2017).  He is a proud member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. His areas of focus include asthma, rhinitis, seasonal allergiessinus disease, chronic cough, skin allergies, and food allergies.

For fun, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and 3 children. He loves volunteering as a coach for his children’s sports team. He is a big fan of Harry Potter and 80’s movies.
